  • Exams and Tests are a regular part of the school environment. They are important, but exams keep you learn and remember the new knowledge. MOE Singapore constantly revising the pattern to make exams more valuable, worthwhile and less threatening experience for students.
  • Effective time management and a revision time schedule.
  • Know your energy level of the day, high or low. Tackle the difficult tasks during high energy level and routines at low energy level.
  • Always revise your notes and corrections first. Make sure you do not make the same mistakes as you have previously made.
  • Learn how to remember lists of things by linking each item to a location on a journey or route you are familiar with around your home.
  • Before you do any revision, warm up by doing some gentle exercise to relieve the tension in your body and has more oxygen flowing to your body system and brain.
  • Do past Exam Papers under exam conditions as often as possible to familiarise yourself with the format.
  • In an exam, you need to read the question carefully and understand what the examiner wants before you begin answering the questions.
  • Don't leave any questions unanswered. If you are short of time, use note form, you can only be marked on the answers you give.
  • Have a relaxing night before your exams. Sleep early and wake-up early in the morning. Take a good and healthy breakfast.
  • Maintain a stable energy level. Eating foods such as chocolate bars before an exam might give you an energy boost but your blood sugar levels will drop within an hour. Energy level will drop dramatically; it becomes hard for you to concentrate.
  • Have all necessary material with you. You can't borrow items such as pens, pencils, rulers, calculator and other while in an examination room.
  • Jot down ideas as they come to you. While you are answering one question, information about another may suddenly occur to you. Jot it down on a piece of paper because when you come to that question later on, you may have forgotten it.
