Language Arts is the curriculum that the students are taught the range of skills needed to become proficient in using the language.
In the Primary 4~6 and Secondary 1~2 level, IP-Language Arts is often used when referring to reading, writing and listening. 
In the Secondary 3~4, IP-Language Arts includes comprehension, oral communication and visual presentations.

Traditionally, schools are familiar with the ‘English’ instead of the ‘Language Arts’.  The term ‘Language Arts’ means: ‘Art’ is a way of communicating an idea, whether it is done through paint, music, dance and sculpture.
The word ‘Language’ is referring to both linguistics and specific language (English).
Therefore ‘Language Arts’ is applied the use a language proficiently in order to communicate an idea.

These words refer to the different components of Language Arts:

The IP Language Arts

• Listening: understand spoken language

• Speaking: communicate ideas through oral language

• Reading: understand written language

• Writing: communicate through written language

• Viewing: understand visual images and connect them to accompanying spoken or written words

• Visually Representing: presenting information through images, either alone or along with spoken or written words.

Now the Language Arts, including the visual media that have become more important in everyday life, viewing and visually representing have become more important as means of communicating.

Individuals continue to have experiences, to listen, to speak, to view, to read, to write, and to make visual presentations of various types. The experiences provide each individual more opportunities to learn through listening and viewing; to use this learning by imitating in their own speech, writing and visual presentations the things heard or seen; and to understand better the things that they read and each individual can formulate critical perspectives on issues.

• Acquire an appreciation of the English language as it applied in different interpretation.

• Develop the skills and knowledge for effective participation in the issues of concern to contemporary societies.

• Develop meta-cognitive awareness; hence become more effective independent learners with the love of English language.

• Acquire the ability to communicate accurately, clearly and effectively in both speech and writing.

• Develop an awareness of the implications of the use of language with clear vision.

Students Exposure to Language Arts

The IP-Language Arts Tutor gives students exposure to variety of text, literary and non-literary, over different mediums. It helps the students with listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The emphasis is to nurture global citizens with good ability to form opinions with facts and figures, hence stands on important issues with those facts.
